What is a Denture Reline?

Denture relining is an affordable procedure that reshapes the underside of a denture to make it more comfortable resting against your gums.

It’s a cost effective way to improve the fitment and to extend the life of your dentures.

Denture Relines are a form of preventative maintenance denture care. They improve the stability and seal off space between the denture and your gums.

The reline process also includes cleaning, cracks filled, teeth polished etc, keeping your dentures looking picture perfect.

When to get a Denture Reline?

You’ll know it’s time for a reline if you have any of the following:

  • Notice food particles becoming lodged between the denture and gums
  • Denture feels loose in your mouth
  • Difficulty chewing
  • Laughing may cause you to feel like your denture is dislodging
  • Tender, sore or inflamed gums

We recommend a Denture Reline every two or so years for those with full dentures, this will maintain the fit and avoid the need for a complete new refit before it’s necessary.
